LaSalle Software News #10: Doing Deferables

Thursday August 4th, 2016

Episode Summary

Welcome to my tenth LaSalle Software News podcast.

This is Bob Bloom, from Toronto Canada.

Today is Thursday, August 04th, 2016.

I publish LaSalle Software News monthly, at the top of the month, to update you on my LaSalle Software.

July is the month I took care of things that seemed deferred into forever. One of the things was figuring out how I would back up my web apps -- the answer is Akeeba Backup Solo Pro. Another thing was spending a shocking amount of time concluding that ultimately, when I need a domain email, I should use Google Apps, which is not really my preferred choice, so I'll keep an eye out for AWS Webmail's progress.

I realized that the existing Roles and Permissions that I already built into LaSalle Software is the R&P that I really want. So I'm not building a R&P package.

I am progressing with co-organizing a GTP PHP "North" meet-up group.

I was not at LaraConUS2016, but I did get the real-time streaming & videos. So kept on top of things which is what I wanted.

I am convinced now that it's a good idea to move LaSalle Software to Laravel 5.3 when it is released.

Enjoy a profitable month!
