Universally Unique IDentifier

A UUID tracks a request through the database.

A UUID is created at the beginning of the request, and is inserted into database records affected by that request. So the request can be traced within the database. This may be helpful in tracking down problems. As well, the back-end includes UUIDs to validate front-end requests.
